⚠️ Limeside Community Safety Message ⚠️

We are seeing an increasing number of very young children riding electric bikes around Limeside. Today, officers witnessed a child believed to be around 4 years old riding one, and earlier this week an 8-year-old was involved in a near miss with a vehicle.

Many of these electric bikes are classed as motor vehicles in law and cannot be used in public places unless they meet legal requirements, including registration, insurance and a suitable licence. In practice, this means they should not be being ridden by young children on roads, pavements, parks or other public spaces.

We are asking parents and carers for their support by ensuring children do not have access to, or use, these electric bikes in public areas.

Our concern is simple: we do not want to see a child seriously injured or killed. Please help us prevent a tragedy before it happens.
